With the generous support of a local patron, we will be hosting professional writers in residence at the Greve de Lecq Barracks. Writers include Candice Carty-Williams whose debut novel ‘Queenie’ has been hailed as the ‘black Bridget Jones,’ Andy Stanton whose recent Children’s series Mr Gum has sold 3.6 million copies in the U.K alone, Cesca Major whose debut historical novel has been described as a ‘smart, flawless and unforgettable triumph’ and Charlene James whose play ‘Cuttin It’ was awarded the Alfred Fagon Award for best new play at the National Theatre.
This selection of carefully chosen writers from a variety of disciplines will spend time at the barracks creating new work, while also offering up their expertise to aspiring local writers as part of our brand newmentoring scheme.
Whilst here, we will be hosting an informal panel discussion for anyone interested in learning more about the writing process, or in meeting these authors to discuss their work. Please book your free place by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
